Zombies Invade Cities Across The World To Promote The Walking Dead Coming To FX November 5th 10pm

Today commuters across the globe were cowering behind their briefcases as hordes of zombies took over 25 major worldwide cities.

The global attack was orchestrated to mark the worldwide release of The Walking Dead, a new TV series which see its UK premiere on FX Friday, November 5th at 10pm.

London commuters were shocked to see the zombies crossing Millennium Bridge, dragging their decomposed bodies along Southbank, terrifying traffic on Westminster Bridge and finally venturing down to the depths of the London Underground.

Taking direction from The Walking Dead’s legendary make-up artist Greg Nicotero, swarms of local zombies consecutively took over major cities worldwide during a 24 hour period and were centred in and around the world’s major landmarks. The invasion kicked off in Taipei and spread across cities including Hong Kong, Dubai, Istanbul, Rome, Madrid, Buenos Aires and New York City with Los Angeles as its final stop.

Similar to a theatrical film release and unheard of within the TV industry, the international debut of The Walking Dead follows just days behind the show’s US premiere Sunday, October 31st on Fox International Channels. The Walking Dead will launch to 250 million households in 120 countries in 33 languages all within the same week.

The Walking Dead, AMC’s original series, is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. David Alpert from Circle of Confusion serves as executive producer. Charles “Chic” Eglee (Dexter, The Shield, Dark Angel) serves as executive producer.

New Doctor Who Companion Unveiled

New Doctor Who Companion Unveiled

Jenna-Louise Coleman has beaten hundreds of hopefuls to become the new companion to Doctor Who, it was announced today by Steven Moffat.

Twenty-five year old Jenna from Blackpool will star alongside the 11th Time Lord, Matt Smith, to mark the biggest year in the show’s history.

Best known for her roles in Emmerdale (Jasmine Thomas) and Waterloo Road (Lindsay James), Jenna will replace Karen Gillan when she and Arthur Darvill bow out of the show in a heartbreaking departure after one final series of rollercoaster voyages later this year on BBC One.

Jenna says: “I’m beyond excited, I can’t wait to get cracking; working alongside Matt I know is going to be enormous fun and a huge adventure.”

The Doctor will meet his new friend in a dramatic turn of events as the show builds towards its enormous, climactic 50th anniversary year – full of thrills, adventures and big surprises. Series seven is currently filming and comprises 14 big, blockbuster-movie episodes – each a brand new epic adventure featuring new monsters and some familiar foes as you’ve never seen them before.

Lead writer and Executive Producer, Steven Moffat, says: “It always seems impossible when you start casting these parts, but when we saw Matt and Jenna together, we knew we had our girl. She’s funny and clever and exactly mad enough to step on board the TARDIS.

“It’s not often the Doctor meets someone who can talk even faster than he does, but it’s about to happen. Jenna is going to lead him his merriest dance yet. And that’s all you’re getting for now. Who she’s playing, how the Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.”

Danny Cohen, Controller, BBC One, adds “As we approach Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary it’s great to welcome a new companion to the TARDIS. I feel confident the Doctor will look after her in his own very unique style.”

In 2011 Jenna made her big screen debut in Captain America: The First Avenger and is soon to star as Annie Desmond in ITV1’s Titanic. She has just finished filming on Stephen Poliakoff’s Dancing On The Edge for BBC Two.

Doctor Who is a BBC Cymru Wales Production for BBC One.

The Sarah Jane Adventures Returns For Forth Season

The Sarah Jane Adventures Returns For Forth Season

The Sarah Jane Adventures returns to CBBC with a host of guest stars, amazing monsters, and a visit from the Doctor

Alien investigator, Sarah Jane Smith, is back on CBBC with a fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures from Monday 11 October.

Created by Russell T Davies, the hugely successful Doctor Who spin-off sees Sarah Jane and her teenage gang set off on brand new adventures that take them out into space and back in time to face Nazi soldiers, a Victorian ghost-hunter, and turmoil in the Tower of London.

From their secret attic in Ealing the gang battle enemies old and new, including Androvax the veil, deadly androids, relentless robots and undertaker vultures. Luke confronts his worst dreams when he meets the Nightmare Man; Rani and Clyde wake up to find they are the only humans left on Earth; and in a very special episode, Sarah Jane joins forces with the Doctor’s former companion Jo Grant to uncover an interstellar conspiracy that threatens the life of the Doctor himself.

Elisabeth Sladen returns as intrepid investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith alongside young stars Tommy Knight as Luke, Daniel Anthony as Clyde and Anjli Mohindra as Rani.

This series also sees a whole host of special guest stars joining the out-of-this-world fun including Katy Manning as the Doctor’s former companion Jo Grant; Survivors star Julie Graham as Ruby White; Primeval and Strictly Come Dancing star Laila Rouass as Colonel Karim; former X Factor contestant Lucie Jones as Gemma; Smack The Pony’s Doon Mackichan as Louise Marlowe; Cheryl Campbell as Ocean Waters; Julian Bleach as the terrifying Nightmare Man, and David Bradley (short-tempered Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch in the Harry Potter movies) as the voice of the sinister Shansheeth.

Best of all, the Eleventh Doctor himself, Matt Smith, makes a star appearance in the intriguingly entitled Death Of The Doctor.

Executive Producer Nikki Wilson says: “We are absolutely thrilled to introduce Sarah Jane and the gang to both the Eleventh Doctor and Jo Grant, and to have a script written by Russell T Davies is the icing on the cake.

“Viewers are in for a real treat, with an action-packed story full of Russell’s usual wit and warmth, which takes the gang inside a secret base beneath Snowdon and introduces brand new aliens, the mysterious Shansheeth. All this, plus a trip to an alien planet — a first for The Sarah Jane Adventures.”

Matt Smith says: “The opportunity to appear in The Sarah Jane Adventures came along towards the end of filming the first series of Doctor Who and I jumped at the chance.

“I knew Russell was going to write it, I’m very fond of Lis, she’s just lovely, and it’s a privilege to be working with two former companions. I felt such a bond working with the actresses and loved picking their brains about working with their Doctors in the past.”

Commenting on working with Matt, Lis Sladen adds: “He’s such an inclusive actor… He just had a week and he was really, really good. I think people will love it actually.”

The Sarah Jane Adventures is executive produced by Russell T Davies and Nikki Wilson and is produced by Brian Minchin. Writers on the fourth series include co-producer Phil Ford, Gareth Roberts, Joseph Lidster, Rupert Laight, and Clayton Hickman.

The Sarah Jane Adventures airs every Monday and Tuesday at 5.15pm on CBBC channel and on Wednesday and Thursday at 4.30pm on BBC Two in the first week moving to BBC One thereafter. And, new to CBBC this year, Sarah Jane and the Bannerman Road gang recount their adventures each week in Sarah Jane’s Alien Files — the ultimate guide of everything you could possibly need to know when facing hostile aliens.

Flash Gordon — The UK Series Premiere

Flash Gordon — The UK Series Premiere

From mythic comic strip conqueror to pulp-serial superstar legend, Flash Gordon returns exclusively on the Sci Fi channel for the 21st century in an action-packed new series about the greatest hero on Earth – and beyond!

Based upon Alex Raymond’s 1936 comic-strip about three friends who battle an evil ruler on the planet Mongo, the series has already wowed audiences in the US… The highly anticipated pilot episode premiered to over 2 million viewers on the American Sci Fi channel on Friday 10 August 2007 — outperforming every Friday night programme on the channel since Battlestar Galactica in November 2006. That’s because this incarnation has been totally re-vamped, with key plot features downscaled to make way for a modern day setting, less camp and more tongue-in-cheek humour, strong appeal for women as well as blokes, and a seriously sexy cast… led by former Smallville star Eric Johnson.

Fans will be chuffed to see the return of character favourites like Ming The Merciless (John Ralston) and Dr. Zarkov (Jodi Racicot). Gina Holden (Blood Ties and Alens Vs. Predator 3 – Requiem) has also been cast in the popular role of Flash’s love interest, Dale. Charmed writer Peter Hulme and director Rick Rosenthal (Halloween III, Bad Boys, Smallville, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) have respectively written and directed episodes of the series — including the pilot.

FLASH GORDON PILOT EPISODE — SYNOPSIS

Med student Steve “Flash” Gordon lives in the shadow of his father, a secretive physics genius, in the heart of his mother, Norah, and in the bittersweet memories of his ex-girlfriend, Dale Arden (Gina Holden), a reporter for the local news station. But the guarded Dr. Gordon – working with his equally brilliant partner, Dr. Hans Zarkov – is embroiled in a covert venture that’s out of this world. When Dr. Gordon falls victim to his own dimension-shifting Matrix Oscillating Neutrino Gate Observation project (M.O.N.G.O geddit?), his tragic death raises suspicions in Flash. With good reason. Dr. Zarkov witnessed the mind-shattering event, and he has an alarming secret to share… Dr. Gordon isn’t technically dead, but he no longer exists in our known world. He’s been sucked through a dimensional rift and left to the stars! For headstrong Dale Arden, it’s the biggest story of her career – if only she was allowed to expose it. With so many lives on the line, all she can do now is follow it – along with Flash and Dr. Zarkov. The search begins with a dimension gateway that may hold the key to Dr. Gordon’s disappearance. It takes the intrepid trio on a universal adventure unlike anything ever experienced before.

Flash Gordon will be premiering on the UK Sci-Fi Channel at 8pm, Monday 3rd March

The highly anticipated movie, set during post-apocalyptic times, stars Christian (The Dark Knight) Bale as human resistance leader John Conner. Warner Bros. is premiering the film on Memorial Day weekend, supported by a marketing and promotional campaign commensurate with a top-tier summer movie blockbuster. An exhilarating full-length trailer, currently previewing in theaters with Watchmen, is now available for online viewing at http://www.terminatorsalvation.com.

The Topps card series will comprise 90 base cards highlighting many memorable moments from Terminator Salvation, including key effects sequences. Extra-special, random insert cards will feature the film’s star robots in Embossed Foil as well as Pop-Up Battle Cards. Additionally, selected packs will contain random, one-of-a-kind Artist Sketch Cards, Authentic Autograph Cards or Memorabilia Cards embedded with actor-worn costume materials. Hobby boxes will include a minimum of one “hit” per 24-count box; foil packs will carry a suggested retail price of $2 per pack.

Terminator Salvation represents the re-igniting of a powerful and beloved fan franchise. The original films amassed over $1 billion at the box office; inspired three theme park attractions and a robust merchandising program encompassing toys, video games, comics, trading cards and much more. The new movie is poised to re-engage many pre-existing fans plus attract a new, younger audience to the fold. In anticipation of initial winning results, a trilogy of three all-new Terminator movies is on the drawing boards.

“The Terminator franchise offers all the right ingredients to become an important, ongoing trading card program,” remarks Topps Vice President of Publishing Ira Friedman. Very few properties qualify as a pop-culture icon, with multi-generational appeal and a proven history of merchandising success. This rich and potent brand hits the mark on all counts and represents an enormously exciting opportunity for Topps, our retail partners, dedicated collectors and fans of the films.” The Terminator Salvation trading cards are scheduled to be available for purchase at hobby shops approximately two weeks prior to the movie opening.

"24" Actor Dennis Haysbert Helps Launch New Advertising Campaign

On his show “24” as President of the United States, acclaimed actor Dennis Haysbert only has 24 harrowing hours to help prevent a national tragedy from occurring. But when it comes to insurance, Haysbert knows it takes more than just a day’s work for reliable service.

That is why the Golden Globe nominated actor is helping to launch Allstate’s new national advertising campaign entitled “Our Stand.” The campaign emphasizes that meeting consumer needs is more important than the low prices that other companies try to push.

Haysbert is known for his current role as President Palmer on “24” as well as an acclaimed role in “Far From Heaven” as Raymond Deagon. The spots debut on November 12.

“I strive to work on projects that I believe in,” said Dennis Haysbert. “It was evident to me that the ‘Our Stand’ advertising campaign illustrates the commitment that Allstate has to its customers and agents.”

The first four “Our Stand” television spots were shot and produced by award-winning director Sam Mendes, known for such films as Oscar winning “American Beauty” and “Road to Perdition.” In addition to television, the campaign will include radio, print and Internet executions.
